We, Layclaretian Movement, unite ourselves with all efforts of the international community in general, and the Catholic Church in particular, to stop the escalating violence in the Middle East, especially in Syria. We join in a particular way through prayer, responding to the call for a day of Fasting and Prayer held on Sunday September 7th.
As Christians, as Claretians, as laity and as citizens we choose to build a peaceful society, where the values of brotherhood and inter-faith and inter-cultural co-existence are the defining characteristics of the States, being held above any economic or ideological interest which, as is well known, are behind these and many other conflicts.
