On August 12, Segovia gathered almost 1,000 young people from various branches of Claretian familyWorld Youth Day 2011 from all around the world. It was the preparatory phase of the and it was celebrated with prayers, singing, dancing games, reflections, marches, and in an extremely joyous and festive environment of fraternization.
On Monday August 15th people traveled to Madrid, where there have been various institutional events, supplemented by other own events of Claretian Family. Within the latter, on Tuesday 16th Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe (better known as the Mexicans), filled with colorful flags and shirts symbols of different races and countries, but united in a common charisma, called by San Antonio M ª Claret. The goal: to promote understanding, fellowship and sense of Claretian family through the meeting with the general manager of the Claretian Family, who presented each of its institutes.
Between dances, singing and praying together, José M ª Abella, Superior General of the Claretian Missionaries, Cristina Ruberte, Consultant Economist and General Government of the Claretian Missionary Sisters, Maria del Mar Alvarez, Director General of filiation Cordimarian and Tino Rodriguez, Secretary General MSC shared their personal experience of vocational call to the different aspects of Claretian charisma, presented each of the branches, told stories and made an offering to the 1,000 young people present to continue the way of commitment and follow of Christ within our Claretian Family.
In the afternoon, Cardinal Rouco presided at Cibeles square the Eucharist ceremony and official opening of this conference under the slogan "Rooted in Christ, firm in faith" were held in the capital of Spain until Sunday 21st .
